DIESEL ENGINE SLUDGE
It’s a fact: Diesel engine sludge inhibits lubrication, and damages engines. For example, sludgy diesel engine oil regularly causes power loss, excessive oil use, poor oil pressure, smoke and overheating under load. Thankfully, we have an answer! Evan Yates used Flushing Oil Concentrate, with a fresh charge of clean oil, to thoroughly clean out his Toyota Landcruiser Troopy. An extra 2L of goo came out when he drained the sump. As Evan shows in the photo he sent us, the Flush pulled a lot of sludge into the clean oil.
Injector rattle or noisy injectors need to be taken seriously. It’s a precursor to expensive repair bills!
The injector rattle can lead to diesel smoke, rough idle, dirty oil, poor fuel economy, and even melted pistons! CRD Fuel Enhancer fixes over 90% of injector problems, but better still it’s a cheap insurance policy against expensive repairs, and contaminated diesel.

Daniel Taylor (WA) owns one of the ever popular Nissan Patrol TD42 GU’s and his is immaculate, well maintained and looked after. Dan reported a bit more power after the Flushing Oil Concentratewas used, but was totally blown away by how clean his oil remained. Crankcase blow-by (or blowby) and/or oil use are worrying signs for truckies. However, that needn’t be the case. Crankcase blow-by typically means an expensive engine rebuild will be recommended by their mechanic or equipment supplier. The cost these days generally starts at $20,000 and can go up to $60,000. When you’re faced with a possible rebuild, you need to know that your money is well spent.

The good news is that over the past three decades, we’ve found that around 80% of trucks with blow-by still have wear within acceptable levels! We discovered that the real problem is usually that they are heavily fouled with carbon and sludge. This is the most common cause of piston ring sticking, blow-by and oil use.

To all the people out there thinking about this product, the stuff really works. I have been... waiting for few tank fills and I can tell you that my 2005 Prado engine has got a new life. 387,000 km on the clock and after adding these additives to it, turbo is working so much better, air intake sounds clearer and my fuel usage has gone down. I used to get 500km per 80l and now it is up to 640 per 80l. Not huge but this car is 17 years old, so I am happy. Awesome products. Used the oil flush product and I recon I got a extra litre out of the oil pan .... Oil was black 10 min after driving after services prior . Still gold in colour 2 weeks in . Also had blowby and with using the FTC decarboniser is has cleared that up aswell. Have been using CEM products for about 5 years now. Had great results from the diesel fuel... additive, which i used on a 2012 navara turbo diesel and now my current vehicle, 200 series TTD landcruiser. Smoother and quieter running also less exhaust smoke. Both vehicles had after market exhaust systems and remaps.After buying a used 200 series, i used both the oil and coolant flush. Also consistently use the antiwear additive in all engines and running gear. Three years on and i still have good oil pressure and coolant temps. All stay in normal range even when working hard towing a 3T van or in the sand.CEM were happy to talk to me about my requirements and their mail service was timely and reasonable. I started using CEM products with DPF issues on 2015 build Hilux 2.8L turbo dieselAfter seeking to... solve the issue affecting DPF blocking I found their FTC decarboniser and diesel treatments I started using the product and it helped with fuel economy and less burn offs After agitating with the manufacturer the DPF was replaced under warranty at 98000kmI’ve used the FTC decarboniser and diesel treatment ever since and the my fuel economy went from 13.5L/100 down to low 10s around town and better on the highwayI used their engine flush in the Hilux which was serviced by the book with a flush @ 130000km The junk that come out in 1/2 hr flush with brand new oil and filter was astoundingSince using the FTC decarboniser I have yet to see a DPF burn off smoke cloud so the new DPF is obviously being maintained very wellCheck the pictures for proofAdditionally I use all their products in a mixed fleet of veteran cars and road bikes with great results and also when I had manually cleaned the sump of a Moto Guzzi bike and then accidentally pinched the sump gasket I needed to drop the sump again. I got laid up for 6 months due to a snapped tendon in my arm so didn’t revisit the bike for the next 6 monthsI warmed the oil up dropped it then added new oil and the flush for 1/2 hr then dropped sump to inspect and replace the gasket I’d pinched initially causing a weepWith only 400kms since last manual clean then the flush I was astounded to see what the CEM flush had cleaned out into the sump. I have been using CEM's products now for over 5 x years in several diesel vehicles and petrol... vehicles also. The products are legitimately good in both diesel and petrol engines. We use the FTC Decarbonizer and CRD additive in the diesels and the Cleanpower additive in petrol engines. We also use the Flushing Oil Concentrate in both diesel and petrol engines before each oil change. Since used these products in diesel engines (Nissan, Mazda, SsangYong and Colorado) we have not had a single issue with any injector, HP fuel pump or DPF filter in that time. We now use in every new diesel we get from new and could not be happier with the results after more than 750,000 km collectively between all diesel vehicles. In fact all we do is regularly change oil & oil filter and the fuel filters and have not spent a single $ on any diesel engine component ever since using CEM products. We have also tested the effect on fuel economy and genuinely get close to an extra 100km per tank in all vehicles when using the diesel fuel additives. Smoke is ZERO, Engine noise is same as new as tested with a dB meter after several years and no clogged DPF ever which is almost unheard of these days.For the petrol engine, all I can say it is a high performance German vehicle with initials MB. At 50,000 km this engine failed by blowing out 2 x pistons....nothing what so ever to do with CEM. The dealer who rebuilt the engine did say that upon pulling down the engine it was the cleanest internals that he had ever seen on any engine in his 30 yrs as a mechanic.This can only be due to using the Cleanpower additive and Flushing Oil concentrate in this engine since new.These products are seriously good and do make a big difference and I have absolutely no hesitation to recommend them to you if your not familar with them or haven't used them before. I normally think of most additives as snake oil, I have to say though, two seperate vehicles... responding to just the FTC decarboniser and the CRD Fuel enhancer, both showing far more available torque and hell of a lot quieter operation. Carried out the engine oil flush on port side volvo penta 6cylinder was show excess pressure coming... from breather and used fuel additives also.Definite reduction in smoke out the exhaust was happy with result there.Still too much blowby so removed head I diagnosed poss head gasket which turned out to be correct with head bolts not very tight from previous work carried out prior to my ownership.I was happy with the fact that all cylinder showed hone marks and no glazing which I believe the flush coorrected hence the reduction of smoke.Recommended fuel additive to a workmate who was blown away by immediate results and has saved him buying new common rail injectors in his Hiace. FTC DecarbonizerI used this on an engine that was glazed up and was blowing smoke at high reaves.... I have a 2011 Western Star Detroit DD15 with 1.3 million kms, used for all sorts of work including... up to triple road trains. I have been using FTC Decarboniser and ran an oil flush through it at 1.1 million kms. Still does not use a drop of oil between 20,000km service intervals. Had my mechanic pull the sump off to do a bearing roll at Christmas and we found insides spotless, even still has cross hatching in the bores! Bought Decarbonizer and the Flushing Oil Concentrate to use on my tractor and excavator, sadly a... bit too late for the digger....needs a rebuild. But the tractor was a definite improvement, the engine ran sweeter and a lot less gunk from the exhaust, really noticeable. Frankly, I am astounded with the difference. I have been using the FTC Decarbonizer for the last... 1,500k. My mechanic has warned me the engine on my Winnebago Motorhome (Chevy 6.5L turbo diesel, 17 yrs old, 225k on the clock) was exhibiting signs of blow-by. There is now no evidence of smoke from the exhaust under load, the performance has improved, the engine just runs smoother, but incredibly it starts first time after being a difficult starter for several years. I have used the AW10 in several cars now. It has made a HUGE difference in all of them. My little... junk Barina that I drive to the train station had a noisy engine and it got hot fast. After using the AW10, it is quiet and the temp takes a while to get to it's working temp. The car runs really well now. All the other cars are running well too.The Rust Conqueror is AMAZING. Works so much better than anything else I have tried. I first saw the XTroll rust treatment way back in the late 80's. It was fantastic back then. Over time I lost the can and moved states. I needed to treat some rust and nothing I used worked properly. I searched for the XTroll and found it with the Cost Effective Maintenance team. They were so helpful. The stuff isn't cheap but it is more than worth it. You want your equipment to last, Use the AW10 and XTroll. Look at the other products too. You won't regret it.read more
